The Do Dham Yatra, encompassing Kedarnath and Badrinath, offers a profound spiritual journey through the heart of the Himalayas. Kedarnath, located at a lofty altitude of 3,583 meters in the Rudraprayag district, is dedicated to Lord Shiva and is one of the twelve Jyotirlingas. Badrinath, situated in the Chamoli district at 3,133 meters, is dedicated to Lord Vishnu and is a key site in Vaishnavism. This sacred pilgrimage combines the divine energies of both Shiva and Vishnu, offering devotees a complete spiritual experience amidst breathtaking Himalayan landscapes.
The Do Dham Yatra is considered one of the most sacred pilgrimages in Hinduism. Kedarnath represents the element of water among the Panch Kedar, while Badrinath is part of both the Char Dham and Chota Char Dham circuits. Together, they symbolize the balance between Shaivism and Vaishnavism, offering devotees the opportunity to seek blessings from both Lord Shiva and Lord Vishnu in a single journey.
