The 'easy on endurance' trail goes through the thick pine forests of Govind National Park. The views from the top are worth climbing to an altitude of 12,500 ft.

The Kedarkantha trek is best done between December to April when the trail is covered in snow, making it a perfect winter trek. The months of January and February offer the most snow. For those who prefer less snow, November and early December are good options.
Kedarkantha is considered a moderate trek suitable for beginners with reasonable fitness. The total distance is about 20-25 km with a gradual ascent. The summit climb is steep but manageable with proper pacing. Winter months add difficulty due to snow.
Accommodation is in high-quality alpine tents (twin/triple sharing) with sleeping bags and sleeping mats provided. Some nights may be in guest houses in villages when available. All campsites are carefully selected for safety and scenic beauty.
Day temperatures range from 10°C to 15°C while nights can drop to -5°C to -10°C, especially at higher campsites. During peak winter (Jan-Feb), night temperatures at summit can go down to -15°C. Proper layering is essential.
Mobile network is available only till Sankri village. Beyond that, there's no network coverage during the trek. BSNL and Jio may work intermittently at some high points. It's best to inform family about the network unavailability in advance.
